Next time think twice before throwing away your leftover pistachio shells. You could use them for umpteen of DIYs ! One among them are these Flowers.
My husband couldn’t even figure out they were made of pistachio shells until I told him!
Making these flowers is definitely a cake walk.
All you will need is:
- A piece of cardboard
- A Glue gun
- Some Pistachio shells
- Acrylic paints
Let’s get started!
- Clean the pistachio shells well.
- Cut a piece of cardboard into a 2-2.5 inches circle.
- Take 2 even sized shells and stick them together and then glue it at the center of the circle.
- Go on gluing shells around this one by one.
This is how it looks on completion!
You can leave them as it is or play with colors of your choice. I painted mine with fucshia and now it looks like a lotus!
With so many festivals coming along, we can include them for various kinds of decoration. Also you could use them in your home decor, as gift toppers or as a decoration in your craft works. All you have to do is play with your imagination!
Also I realized they bear so much resemblance to these succulents I photographed some days back! Only got to be painted similarly!
“Imagination is the soil that brings dreams to life.”
Happy Crafting !!! 🙂

Will this work with elmer’s glue? And did you use water color / paint or acrylic paint?

I used acrylic paint Leela. And about the glue, using a glue gun makes the project much easy. It strongly holds the shells in its place. I haven’t tried with Elmer’s glue so not sure how efficient will that be in holding the shells together.
